Assignment: Rebrand
Goal: Making the brand look as good as the food tastes.
De Eetklub runs its kitchen on pure love. They love the food itself and the connection it brings. In preparing, making, delivering and eating food we’re fostering friendships. Food is about community. De Eetklub loosely translates to The Eating Klub, (yes, with a K). So join the club! They deliver a weekday menu to homes around Haarlem, they provide healthy lunches for offices, and they cater events big and small. All so that you have all the time to enjoy eachothers company.
The assignment
De Eetklub needed an identity that looked as good as their food tasted. In their start up phase they had a barebones brand identity, but it lacked they warmth, the human connection that they wanted to convey in their brand. Revolte was tasked to spin their image into the social hub they are. They bring people together, they create space for sharing, for connection, for enjoyment. We provided them with a full rebrand to reflect those values.
The wordmark
We worked together with our favourite type designer, Fabio Pop of type foundry M59, to find a typeface for the wordmark that would fit the brand. We ended up with one of the more simple options as much of the brand experience comes from the application.
Just like one ingredient doesn’t determine the meal, the wordmark doesn’t determine the brand. It’s the mix of all ingredients that creates the experience.
Slogan and Tone-of-voice
We’re obviously playing with the invitation to join the table and joining the community. Just like the guys who run the kitchen, the brand doesn’t take itself too seriously and is quick to make a joke or a pun.

Het verbindt de kok met de tafelgasten. Het verbindt de eters aan elkaar. En het verbindt jou met je lichaam.
De Eetklub zorgt ervoor dat jij zoveel mogelijk tijd en aandacht aan je tafelgenoten kan geven. Je hoeft er niet naar om te kijken, geen seconde over na te denken, en wij schotelen je keer op keer heerlijke, verrassende maaltijden voor. Want dat is ónze passie!
Of dat nou voor al je vrienden en collega’s is op een groot evenement, of een paar maaltijden aan huis voor je familie, De Eetklub is er voor jou.

Dinner's ready!
Visual identity
We went for a modern twist on the old 50s-inspired type combinations and color palettes. It evokes the nostalgia for an era when we had less distractions and more time for each other. As a recognizable brand pattern we borrowed from tablecloth and dishcloth weave patterns to tie it all together.
Photography
Every photo should tell you that food is about connection. Connection between the cook and the eater and connection between the guests at the table. We also want to show the joy in preparing and sharing the food.
